Profile[]
Grele is Hiver's younger brother who worked in a dye factory to support his family expenses. Before his awakening as a Child, Grele is cheerful and happy when he talks about his sister Hiver despite their tough living conditions. After becoming a Child, Grele's personality have changed and become more aggressive.
After seeing Shalica treats him the same way as his sister, Grele started to develop emotions and its less aggressive.
History[]
Player met Grele at Blue Wind Plains after meeting Hiver to convey President Vernicka's message. He was later sold to Tryan by his relative and witness Tryan's soldier stab Hiver. He became a mutant Child out of shock when his whole family had died.
Joining the Anti-Goddess Faction[]
After becoming a Child, Grele went into hiding in Distorted Zone. Before going to Southern Lands, Norfe, the leader of the Anti-Goddess Faction in Rhadames request Player to find Grele and bring him to Rhadames. Player receive words from President Vernicka about Grele’s location and set out to Distorted Zone to look for him. Upon meeting Player, Grele remembers Player in his memory that Player was someone from Lagendia and was afraid that he will become “enemies” with Hiver. Getting suspicious of Grele’s words, Player reports to Vernicka and learnt that Hiver has awaken as a Child. Hiver has installed devices in an attempt to kill Grele. Due to Grele has absorb Tryan and several Child’s jewels, he was not affected by the spell. Vernicka told Player that Grele isn’t Hiver only target, she also target the ones who is related to her past which is her uncle. Upon arriving at Hiver and Grele's relative house in Blue Wind Plains, Grele’s Child instincts took over him and killed his uncle.
While at Rhadames, Grele was uncooperative with the Anti-Goddess Faction and unwilling to talk to Norfe through the hologram. After learning about Norfe and Vernicka's intention to eliminate Hiver from IIlang, an agent of the Anti-Goddess Faction. Grele decides to pull himself together and lend his strength to the Anti-Goddess Faction.
Broken Trust[]
When Player went to Merca with Arc and decide to pay President Vernicka a visit, Vernicka wants Player to convey his suggestion to Norfe to send Grele to Merca due to Mamon had been sending scouts around the area near Rhadames to look for Grele. While waiting for Kid Geraint to come back from Monolith, Player and Arc discover a suspicious device in the Distorted Zone in Southern Land. Player bought the devices to Norfe for him to investigate further and Norfe realized the devices was made using Rhadames's Technology and suspect there is a traitor within the Anti-Goddess Faction. After Gregory told Player and Arc how he had sense Grele's energy from the device and Arc knows the identity of the traitor who sold Hiver and Grele information to Mamon and follows Player to Rhadames to inform Norfe. Before they could devise a plan, a guard rushes over to inform Norfe that Grele had went to the Distorted Zone after sensing Hiver was in danger. Player and Norfe rushes to the Distorted Zone to stop Grele from meeting Hiver and Mamon. But they will too late, Hiver pushes Grele to Mamon and Grele lost his jewel to Mamon. Grele was in shock and devastated by the betrayal. In order to save Grele from disintegrated, Norfe decides to save Grele by giving Grele his master Akademia's jewel. Furious and disappointed by the betrayal from Vernicka, Player went to confront Vernicka at Merca why he betrayed them and sold Grele and Hiver information to Mamon. Vernicka wanted to make use of Mamon to get rid of Hiver but did not expect that Grele is the one getting hurt. Player ask Vernicka how he could bear to do this after seeing the relics of Hiver's past, Vernicka responded saying human Hiver would choose to die than becoming a monster that killed her family.
In search of the Cup of Healing[]
After Player have gotten Grele’s jewel back from Mamon with Gregory’s help. Norfe inform Player that Grele’s jewel integration isn’t going well and he might lost control of himself. After Player met Kid Geraint and obtain a small clue about the Cup of Healing from Rubinart’s apparition. Player and Kid Geraint set out to Chiron Island without knowing Grele was secretly following them. Player then inform Norfe about Grele’s intention and Norfe responded it would be better for Grele to joins them to search of the Cup of Healing due to Edart Empire have increased surveillance on Merca. After breaking the force field and came face to face with the High Child who rules over Chiron Island, they were rescued by a mysterious woman named Lica. After learning about Lica from Norfe, Player decides to go to Secret Seabed Cave to meetup with Lica. However, Grele’s condition has worsen and collapsed. With Lica’s help in creating a catalyst to help Grele with his jewel integration. Grele have recovered, and Lica suggest Grele to take a rest in Merca.
Grele later joins Shalica and the rest to Phantom Forest to meet with Hirendel to sign the peace treaty. Upon seeing Vernicka fell into Hirendel's trap and almost lost control of himself in anger, Shalica step forward and offer herself as hostage. After seeing Shalica was taken away by Hirendel, Grele felt upset that he is of no help to everyone this time.
After Player obtain the key to enter Hirendel's Nest with the help from Merchant April, Player and Grele set out to Hirendel's Nest to rescue Shalica. When Player had defeat Hirendel, Shalica's cage fell to the bottom of the World Tree and a mysterious Child appears and took Hirendel away. Grele was overwhelmed by the mysterious Child's presence and Player took Grele back to Merca to rest while they went to the World Tree to search for Shalica. After Player had found the Chiron relic and restore it, Player heard rumors about the Red Lotus Palace and Goddess Vestinel might be hiding the Cup of Healing in the Red Lotus Palace Treasure Vault. Player decides to go to the Red Lotus Palace with Norfe and Grele.
At the Gust Dragon Nest, Shalica ran away from the group after Rubinart awaken her as a Child. Grele wanted to go after Shalica but was stopped by Player and Norfe. Grele was unable to control his emotions and Player who had been remains calm, telling Grele in almost a scolding way that Shalica did everything she could with her remaining strength to get away from them as far as possible. After hearing what Player had said, Grele began to cry uncontrollably.
After Player has obtain access to enter the Treasure Trove by Commander Hwaran, Grele went to the Treasure Trove with Player and Kid Geraint. At there, they found an Old Cup which they believed to be the Cup of Healing. When Player have found out from Arc that the Cup of Healing is incomplete and Aergal Kingdom was under attack by the Red Child as well as Child Hiver. Grele admit to Player that back then when they were at Loser's Exile Place to get Ultima, he senses Hiver's presence lingering a short while at the place. Grele have overcome the facts that his sister Hiver is dead and only Child Hiver remains. With firm resolution, they decided to go back to Rhadames to find out more about the Cup of Healing.
Rhadames in the Storm[]
Upon arriving at Rhadames, they saw many refugees from Aergal Kingdom. Player decides to lend a hand to Sorceress Anna to help the refugees while trying to find out what happen to Aergal Kingdom and told Grele and Kid Geraint to go look for Norfe. After meeting up with Norfe, Norfe told Player to go meet with Arc at the Vulcanus Swamp. Player and Grele went to the Vulcanus Swamp to meet up with Arc. Arc told them about the situation at the Western Territory as well as Hiver. Before leaving, Arc told Player about Aergal Kingdom one and only princess, Princess Sylvania. When Player receives the Cup of Healing lid from Princess Sylvania. After attaching the lid, there is nothing happens to the Cup of Healing. After learning from one of the refugees that they have a copy of what was describe at the stone slab in Aergal Kingdom about the Cup of Healing but the refugee have lost the copy while traveling through Red Waste. Grele and Player went to Red Waste to look for the missing item dropped by the refugee. At Red Waste, Player met Lapis again after Vernicka had lost all contacts with him. Lapis inform Player that due to a fire that breakout at the warehouse of the Citadel Thieves, the items stored in the warehouse were destroyed. When Player and Grele was about to head back to Rhadames, Lapis informed them about the suspicious activities of Hiver and Vandar. After hearing what Lapis had said and worried about Rhadames. Player and Grele rushes back to inform Norfe but he was nowhere be found and they hears a explosion outside of Rhadames. Player and Grele quickly runs out and the bombs installed at the secret route were detonated. In the midst of chaos, Hiver appears and absorb the jewels of the Childs who died in the explosion. After meeting Child Hiver face to face the second time, Grele was hit by the realization that his sister Hiver is already dead. The group went back to Rhadames to discuss the next course of action, Player notice Grele was feeling down and follows him to Sorceress Anna's place to listen to Hiver's Song one last time.
Grele's sacrifice[]
Player came back to Rhadames after meeting Kid Geraint at Black Lake, they saw Grele have been waiting for them to come back. Player felt anguish when Norfe and the rest talks about the Red Child and what Kid Geraint had said. Player decides to talk about Rubinart and what Kid Geraint have been feeling with Grele since he have the same experience with Hiver who have become a sworn enemy the Anti-Goddess Faction have to fight. Grele understood what Kid Geraint have been feeling and said it will be good if the Cup of Healing can heal Hiver, Rubinart and Shalica at the same time even though everyone is having doubts about the Cup of Healing and what it can do.
Before leaving for the Frozen Dragon Nest, Grele ask Kid Geraint about the "mission" he always talks about. Kid Geraint went speechless and wasn't able to provide answers to Grele's question as he wasn't able to learn more about it from Argenta when she was still alive. The only thing Kid Geraint told Grele that his mission was his reason for living.
After Player defeat Child Hiver who has turned into Frozen Dragon, Grele falls into despair when the Cup of Healing is not working. The moment Hiver's jewel appears out from her body, Grele took the jewel and absorbed the jewel and himself into the Cup of Healing to activate its healing power. Shalica was return back to normal but was devestated when Grele sacrifice his life to save her.
Aftermath[]
In Asleep in the plains side quest, Vandar told Player that Grele had once ask him for a favor regards to the Blue Wind Plains before going to the Frozen Dragon Nest and seeing how Grele couldn't bring it up to him must be something personal and ask Player about it. Norfe reveal that Grele must have wanted to be laid to rest with his sister Hiver and told Player to look for Sorceress Anna about the keepsakes of Hiver and Grele. After Player received the keepsakes of Hiver and Grele from Sorceress Anna, Player went to visit Vernicka before going to Blue Wind Plains. Vernicka expressed his regret about Grele that he has make a promise to Grele that if Shalica is safely returned, he would offer him a formal apology. Vernicka give a ice flower to Player and ask Player to pay respects to the siblings on his behalf.

- After Norfe revealed his real identity to Grele, Grele started to open up to him. In the Red Lotus Palace Trailer, Norfe cares about Grele like his own younger brother despite the both of them only a few years apart from each other.
