Profile[]
Shalica is the only child of the former Merca's President. She was described to be a wild tomboy girl by Merchant Sarrah and save Vernicka who is on a verge of death when he was a young boy. Shalica loves freedom and goes on a journey when she was 15.
History[]
At one point of her journey, Shalica temporary stay in Rhadames to help the Anti-Goddess Faction. She helped the peoples in Rhadames in designing all the swamp traps and water facilities.
When Player first enters the Phantom Forest, Shalica began to take notice of them and follow them. They tried to lure her out in Ancient Chiron City as per Norfe's plan but failed, Shalica leaves an antidote herb behind when Player was being stabbed by the Guardian roots. Shalica saves them in Phantom Forest after General Jade appears and attack Hirendel. After learning about Shalica's backstory with the Anti-Goddess Faction from Norfe, Player decides to go and meet Shalica at the Secret Seabed Cave to seek her help in Chiron Island however Grele's condition has worsen and collapsed. Before continuing their investigations, Shalica decides to help Grele with his jewel integration.
Player went to look for Shalica in Chiron Beach upon Norfe's request to bring her back to Merca. After learning about the situation in Merca, Shalica decides to go back to Merca's Heart with Player. Upon arriving at Merca's Headquarter, Player found out that Shalica and Vernicka knew each other and her true identity. As the 2nd leader of Merca, Shalica began to devise a countermeasure plans with Vernicka to keep Merca safe. Shalica follows Vernicka and the rest to Phantom Forest to meet Hirendel to sign the peace treaty. When it turns out that the peace treaty from Hirendel is a trap, Shalica was taken hostage by Hirendel.
When Shalica successfully taken hostage by Hirendel, she takes the chance to use the universal key and hologram device to escape from the holding area to search for the relic. When Player tries to search for Shalica under the World Tree, Gregory appears and told Player not to look for Shalica as everything that has happened its part of Shalica's plan and tell Player to ask Norfe. Player went to ask Norfe as per what they heard from Gregory, Norfe told Player what he knows about Shalica's plans based on the items she had asked previously: a Hologram Device & Universal Key.
After Shalica and Player retrieve the relic, they went to Norfe to look for a solution to activate the relic. After receiving a suggestion from Vernicka to make use of the magic power from the Flawless Jewel, they learnt from one of the Merchants at Merca's Port that Edart Empire has tighten inspections on the goods bringing in by the Merchants from all over Mistland. After learning from Vernicka that the consficated items was being stored at Abandoned Wharf, Norfe and Player began to make plans to sneak the items out from the Empire's cargo ship. When Shalica was able to convince Gregory to help to sneak the items out, Player follows Gregory to Abandoned Wharf to carry out their plans. After the relic was installed, Shalica manage to convince Vernicka to let Gregory stay in Merca under their protection.
Shalica later joins Player in Red Lotus Palace after finishing her investigation at Aergal Kingdom. She informed Norfe about the situation in Aergal Kingdom and they have cut-off all communications with the outside world. Shalica then deduces it was because of Jade appearing in their land. After hearing about Jade being sighted in Red Lotus Palace and how are they going to lure him out, Shalica suggests to set a trap for both Hwaran and Jade. When they have successfully lure Jade to the Sohyang River Dam and defeated him, Rubinart appears and borrow Vestinel's power to awaken Shalica as a Child. Shalica ran away from the group. Vandar later found Shalica at the Loser's Exile Place who mistook Vandar as someone from Norfe’s group. Vandar doesn’t want to believe Shalica had turn into a Child and desperately telling her to pull herself together. Shalica who is on the verge on losing herself told Vandar to leave her alone and don’t mention Vernicka’s name to her. Using her remaining strength, Shalica told Vandar to go back and give up all hopes for her.
Shalica later appears in Frozen Dragon Nest after being lured into the nest by Child Hiver. When Shalica breaks free from Child Hiver's holding area after Player have defeated Child Hiver who has turned into Frozen Dragon, she dashes towards Player and tried to attack Player. After Grele sacrifice himself and Hiver's jewel into the Cup of Healing to activate its healing power, Shalica was return back to normal but was devastated when Grele sacrifice his life to save her.
In Asleep in the plains side quest, Shalica told Sorceress Anna that she was bewitched by Child Hiver with a spell which cause a mental strain to her after becoming a Child. Sorceress Anna told Player that Shalica will be fine after a long rest since she is a healthy individual to begin with.
News from the Desert[]
Before going to Merca, Vandar went to visit Sorceress Anna to find out more about Shalica's condition. Anna revealed that Shalica is suffering similar symptoms as Grele when they absorb a powerful jewel than what their capacity could handle. Vandar learnt that after the Cup of Healing absorb Hiver and Grele's jewel, all the jewels' attributes were being transferred over to Shalica.
Trivia[]
- In one of the side quests after Player finishes the Extra Chapter 8 from Merchant Sarrah, it was implied that Shalica has romantic feelings for Vernicka. Vernicka rejected Shalica's romantic feelings for him due to his position as the President of Merca.
- When Kyle cuts off Shalica's cage to let it fall to the bottom of the World Tree, Player and Grele did not realize that the Shalica who is held captive in the cage was actually her hologram.
- In one of the Rhadames side quests, Sorceress Anna doesn't seem to be on good terms with Shalica when she came to Rhadames by chance in her journey and does not want to reveal her identity to them. Over the time, Anna's opinion towards Shalica change and even took care of her in her weakened state after being healed by the Cup of Healing.
